Terms of Service

Effective: 1 January 2025

These terms govern the use of translation and localization services provided by Leclerc Serge Translation & Localization Services, based in Frankfield, Cork, Ireland. By engaging our services, you agree to the conditions outlined below.

Scope of Services

We provide technical document translation, website localization, and proofreading for businesses expanding into European markets. Each project is scoped individually based on language pair, volume, and subject matter complexity.

Translation of engineering manuals and business documentation
Website localization including UI strings, legal pages, and marketing content
Proofreading and quality assurance by a second linguist
Terminology management and glossary creation

Client Responsibilities

Clients must provide source materials in a readable digital format, clarify target audience and regional preferences, and supply reference materials (glossaries, style guides, previous translations) when available.

Submit clear source files (DOCX, XLIFF, HTML, or plain text)
Specify preferred terminology for industry-specific terms
Review and approve deliverables within agreed timelines
Provide feedback for revisions within 14 days of delivery

Pricing and Payment

Pricing is quoted per project based on word count, language pair, and required turnaround. All prices are in EUR and exclude VAT where applicable. Invoices are due within 30 days of issue.

Quotes are valid for 14 days from issue
50% deposit required for projects over €1,000
Late payments incur a 1.5% monthly charge on outstanding balance
No refunds once work has commenced on a project

Confidentiality and Data Protection

All client materials are treated as confidential. We sign NDAs on request and store files on encrypted servers. We comply with GDPR requirements for personal data processing.

Data is not shared with third parties without explicit consent
Client files are deleted 90 days after project completion unless otherwise agreed
We use secure file transfer for all deliverables
Subcontractors (if used) are bound by the same confidentiality terms

Limitation of Liability

Our liability is limited to the value of the service provided. We are not liable for indirect damages, loss of business, or errors arising from incomplete or inaccurate source materials provided by the client.

Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of delivery
Maximum liability equals the total fee paid for the specific project
We are not responsible for third-party platform changes affecting localized content
Force majeure events suspend obligations without penalty

Dispute Resolution

Any disputes shall first be resolved through direct negotiation. If unresolved, disputes will be settled under Irish law in the courts of Cork, Ireland.

Negotiation period: 30 days from written notice
Mediation may be requested before legal proceedings
Prevailing party is entitled to reasonable legal costs
These terms supersede any prior agreements or understandings
